Environmental Microbiology

Environmental Microbiology is the study of microbes in their environmental contexts. This includes applied environmental microbiology, i.e., how microbes and microbial products can benefit human health, the environment, and industry, as well as microbial ecology, i.e. microbial community structure and function, interactions between microbes in the environment and with macrorganisms, and their interactions with their habitats.
